Feeders for Leopard Geckos

Leopard geckos are strict insectivores — no greens, no fruit, insects only. That makes feeder variety more important for them than for an omnivore that gets nutrients elsewhere.

A good rotation: medium discoid roaches or medium crickets as the staple, mealworms for convenience, hornworms occasionally for hydration. Dust with calcium at most feedings and a multivitamin once a week.

Adults eat every two to three days; juveniles daily. Feeders should be no longer than the width of your gecko's head.

Leopard geckos hunt by movement, so a feeder that sits still gets ignored. Roaches and crickets both work well; mealworms are best offered in a shallow dish they cannot burrow out of.
